Biography:Dr. Minfan Fu received the B.S., M.S., andPh.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from University ofMichigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute, Shanghai Jiao TongUniversity, Shanghai, China in 2010, 2013, and 2016. He is currently anAssistant Professor at School of Information Science and Technology (SIST), ShanghaiTechUniversity, Shanghai, China. Between 2016 and 2018, he held a postdoctoralposition with the Center for Power Electronics Systems (CPES), VirginiaPolytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA, USA.

His research interests include wireless powertransfer, ultra-high-frequency power conversion, applications of wide-band-gapdevices, magnetic integration, modeling and control of resonant convertors, ubiquitouspower IoT, AI and big data based intelligent power network. His first three IEEE journal papers on MHz WPT, which were publishedin 2014 and 2015, have been world widely cited 156, 140, and 124 times. Since 2010, he has a close connection with the industry partners (including Huawei,Intel, and Qualcomm) in this research domain, and the overall industrialfunding is over 2.5 million RMB. At CPES, he worked with Dr. Fred C. Lee, aNational Academy of Engineering member and IEEE Fellow, and extended hisexpertise to the field of high-frequency power electronics. He developed thenext-generation GaN-based DC-DC module. Compared to the state-of-the-artproducts, the peak efficiency and power density have increased from 91% to 96%and from 88 W/inch3 to 130 W/inch3.

He is a senior member of IEEE and a senior member of CPSS. He holds one US patent, three Chinese patents and has published45 papers in prestigious IEEE journals and conferences, such as IEEE Trans.Industrial Electronics and IEEE Trans. Power Electronics. Currently, his totalgoogle scholar citations exceeds 760, and one of his first papers was listed byEssential Science Indicators (ESI) as top 1% highly cited papers in engineeringand publication years. His conf. paper for IECON 2019 won the IES-SYPAcompetition (<1%). He serves as the section chair for several international conferences (such as VEH, IECON, ECCE-Asia). Currently, he serves as a reviewer for IEEE Transactionson Power Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEETransactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theoryand Techniques, and IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, etc. At 2019, heis honored as the "Shanghai Eastern Scholar".
