The speakers of ASSIST 2019 visited AEPCL

After the talks on 2019 Annual ShanghaiTech Symposium on Information Science and Technology (ASSIST 2019), the speakers visited AEPCL on the evening of July 2. Dr. Minfan Fu introduced the development and ongoing researches about high frequency power conversion and wireless power transfer.

The speakers are C. K.Michael Tse (Hong Kong Polytechnic University), Ke Ma (Shanghai Jiao Tong University), PatrickLuk (Cranfield University), Pinjia Zhang (Tsinghua University), Wei Qiao (Universityof Nebraska-Lincoln) respectively. They gave interesting presentations about Fault Diagnosis in Power and Energy Systems and had a group photo taken with participants on ASSIST 2019.

About ASSIST :

The Annual ShanghaiTech Symposium on Information Science and Technology (ASSIST) is an international forum that features fundamental research developments and groundbreaking technologiesin the areas of computer science, electrical engineering, information engineering and computational mathematics. Each year, we invite some of the most renowned researchers in the world from both academia and industry to presenttheir latest research work and to discuss future research directions. The Symposium aims to bring the state of the art in research and industrial technologies to young faculty and graduate students in China, especially in the neighboring areas of Shanghai.

The first ASSIST held in 2015 focused on Data Science and Machine Learning. The second ASSIST held in 2016 focused on three main topics: Robotics, Virtual Reality, and Computing Theory and Systems. The third ASSIST held in 2017 focused on Artificial Intelligence. The fourth ASSIST held in 2018 focused on Computer Vision.

This year, our ASSIST’s theme is Smart Life. Our featured topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

Computer Visionand Smart Robotics

Smart Computer Systems

Intelligent Networks with Convergence of Communication, Control and Computing

Smart Devices, Circuits and Systems

Advanced Powerand Energy Systems

Intelligent Medical Image Systems

Biomedical and Healthcare Big Data

The symposium is hosted by the School of Information Science and Technology, ShanghaiTech University. Jointly founded by Shanghai Municipal Government and Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) in 2013, ShanghaiTech University is devoted to excellence in teaching, learning, and research, and to developing leaders in many disciplines who makea difference globally.
